Get to know me.
My name is Stephanie Cotta, and I LOVE books! Growing up, I spent much of my time delving into every Star Wars book I could get my hands on, which all began at age nine when I bought The Courtship of Princess Leia by Dave Wolverton at a garage sale for a quarter. I even wrote a Star Wars book about the Wookiees on Kashyyyk when I was in fifth grade. I am proving how much of a book nerd and geek I was (still am)!
I was always an avid reader long before I ever thought I would become an author. In high school, I wrote plenty of poetry and even started writing a paranormal novel in a notebook, but I never considered myself a writer. My passion and creative outlet at the time was art: pencil, pastels, and oil painting—it’s what I pursued in college. It wasn’t until years later when my pastor—who loved both Lord of the Rings and Star Wars— told me to write my own fantasy book that I went home right away and wrote the first chapter to what would become my epic fantasy series (THE CLASH OF KINGDOMS, unpublished). 10 years and 10 completed manuscripts later, I have finally realized my dream of being a published author!

*I am an ISFJ, (known as Defender)
*I brainstorm a lot of scenes when I’m trying to sleep. With my eyes closed, I can spend time visualizing the scene beforehand, working out many of the details before I begin writing the next day. And yes, oftentimes I end up needing to write entire scenes/dialogue down in my Notes app so I don’t forget it by morning!😆
*I am a total history buff! It has been my favorite subject as long as I can remember. I particularly love Medieval, Viking, and Japanese History.
*I am also a big gamer and have been since childhood. My favorite games to play are RPG’s (love Final Fantasy) and I love adventure style games like The Legend of Zelda. (Ocarina of Time is my all-time favorite game, followed by Shadow of the Colossus.)
